Hands-on Training

Venomous Snake Handling & Awareness Course

Venomous Snake Handling & Awareness training is our specialty. We have been delivering industry-leading snake handling courses across Queensland since 2014. Our intensive one day program builds the practical knowledge, confidence, and skill-set needed to safely relocate and responsibly interact with snakes.

Guided by our experienced team of instructors, participants will get the opportunity to hone their skills and interact with our extensive collection of Australian venomous and non-venomous snakes. This course pairs a face-to-face theory unit with practical, hands-on training covering topics including:

  • snake bite first aid

  • snake identification

  • snake ecology and behaviour

  • safety and risk management

  • handling techniques and equipment

  • relocation procedures

  • legislation

Our course is endorsed by the Queensland Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI) and is a mandatory requirement for anyone applying for related wildlife authorities, including a Damage Mitigation Permit (DMP) or Rehabilitation Permit to relocate snakes.

With thousands of participants trained since 2014, our courses have earned a reputation for being professional, practical, and engaging. Whether you’re a landholder, business operator, council employee, pest management technician, aspiring snake catcher or simply a wildlife enthusiast, you’ll leave with the knowledge and confidence to make safe, informed decisions when encountering Australia’s venomous snakes.
