The clear blue ocean of the west coast contrasts the deep red rock of the Pilbara region perfectly. This is a particularly diverse pocket of Australia with a huge range of contradicting habitats all within a few hours drive from each other. Coastal dunes, freshwater lakes, cool climate woodlands, open gibber plains, sheer rocky escarpments and undulating spinifex hills are only a small number of landscapes to expect in this area, each having their own habitat-specific wildlife!
